Peter Loose donated “Blue Sky Rooster,” which was part of the stage decorations for the 25th North Georgia Folk Festival. Peter Loose has been making art since 1987 and has been included in collections large and small. His work has been featured in museum shows and he is currently showing in Statesboro, GA and Miami, FL. His art has been published in magazines and books. Several of his works were part of the set design for Hollywood release “Nights in Rodanthe.” www.peterloose.com
Patrick Mizelle donated “Manga #4,” and “Manga #5,” both Asian inspired pieces, which are acrylic on canvas (18 x 24) from a series “Nihon Boogey” in 2003. Patrick Mizelle graduated from UGA with a BFA in 1973, and retired to Athens in 2007 after a career in the Arts in Atlanta.
Pam Congrove donated “Blurred Vision,” which is a mixed media on canvas, 24 x 30. Pam Congove is a local artist who works in mixed media and oil on canvas.
Bob Croft donated “Blue Fauvre,” an acrylic on canvas, 34 x 48, “Harlem Night Club 1925,” an acrylic on canvas, 44 x 50, “Red Fauvre,” an acrylic on canvas, 34 x 48, and “Ka’ena Point,” an acrylic on canvas, 43 x 56.
Mark D. Keever donated a double-sided piece, which can either free stand or hang from the ceiling. It is oil on canvas, one side features “The Egotist,” and the other side features “Happy Dream.” Mark Keever is the former Head Flyman at the Classic Center. He now works as a set dresser for TV and movies, such as ‘Somebodies,’ a TV show filmed here in Athens, ‘Daddy’s Little Girls,’ ‘Madea Goes To Jail,’ ‘Zombieland,’ and many others.
L. Freeman donated “Two People,” a large piece featuring two people embracing against a black background, dated July 2007.
Bradley Tolbert donated “Bear, Fish, and a Dollar Bill.” Bradley Tolbert is an iconographer and resident of Athens.
Melody Croft donated “Morning Glory,” an oil on canvas, 20 x 24, and “Rocking Pear,” an oil on canvas, 12 x 16. Melody Croft has been painting for over 15 years, first in watercolor and now in oil. She paints portraits, landscapes and still lifes.
Jasmine Rizer donated “Untitled (colorful background),” a pen and ink drawing, “Pink Girl,” a pen and ink featuring colored pencil on paper, and “Untitled (black and white),” a pen and ink drawing. Jasmine Rizer’s artwork has appeared in Robin Fay’s e-zine “Moonshine” since it’s inception.
Ruth Allen donated “Possible,” an acrylic and graphite on canvas. Ruth Allen is a self-taught artist who enjoys drawing and painting outside the loop in Northwest Georgia.
Jean Gibson painted this watercolor in 1990 “Untitled (mountains and trees),” which was donated by Melody Croft.
Ali Sabin donated “Athens GA,” a hand-pulled screenprint celebrating one of Athens favorite pastimes and encouraging alternative means of transportation. Ali Sabin is a local printmaker and web developer for UGA. She specializes in hand-carved and hand-pulled block prints. www.alisabin.com
Marion Coleman donated “Untitled (butterfly with red birds),” “And Let There Be Beauty,” and “Untitled (clown and cat).” Marion Coleman has been in a Juried Exhibit a few years ago and has donated her work for use in fundraising t-shirts.
Thom Wittenberg donated four photographs from his many travels, “Beijing,” “Turkey,” “Scotland,” and “Belize.” Thom Wittenberg finds something fascinating, even compelling, about doors and windows, and photographs them throughout his journeys as 'The Accidental Photographer.'al Photographer.' Cheri Wranosky donated a ceramic sculpture, “Out of Key.” Cheri's work reflects the human condition and our reactions as we interact with our surroundings. She often combines found and recycled objects with her hand-built pieces. See but Creations

Deena-n-Emily’s handmade soaps in a basket were donated by Deena Parham. What started back in 2002, as a search for bath products that the very young and sensitive skinned Emily could use without breaking out, blossomed into a wonderful soap making business for the two of them. Along the way, Deena, who loves the wonderful fragrance of good incense, found herself soured at the selections that were offered and decided to add incense making to her lineup. Now, eight years later, they are both producing not only skin loving soaps, bu also wonderful incense sticks and cones. Robert Clements donated “A Letter to Break a Heart.” Robert Clements taught art at The University of Georgia for 25 years, and now does public art projects in Atlanta.

Lisa Majersky has lived in Athens for 20 years. She used to do music and sometimes art. She likes cats!

George and Marlene Kemp-Dynin donated a piece of Haitian art that they acquired during their travels. Mr. Dynin paid over $250 for the painting and recalls the artist was well known when he purchased it. MHANEGA will donate 20% of the proceeds of this item to the recovery in Haiti.

Laurie Wilburn Bailey donated two photographs of her travels, “Canals of Venice, Italy,” and “Rainy Day at Tiananmen Square, Beijing China.”
Sharon Brondos donated two hand-woven wool scarves, “Red/Yellow,” and “Grey/Brown.” They feature handspun yarn and commercial fibers, hand dyed and hand-woven.
Sally E. Walker donated four photographs “Summer Violets, Cotswalds England,” 16 x 18, “Wind Ripples, Hilton Head,” 16 x 20, “Champagne Poppies, Lyme Regis England,” 16 x 20, and “Crystal Palace Bathing Duck,” 16 x 20. Printed on Epson Professional paper and archival inks. Sally enjoys mixed media art and photography. She has won awards for her art.
Charles Wright donated “The Muse,” a piece that represents the unrecognizable face of inspiration. Charles is a Georgian artist working in oils. He was born in Jacksonville, FL and studied painting at The University of Florida and Tennessee.
Audey Lee donated “Untitled.” Audey paints for enjoyment and gifting. She substitute teaches for students with special needs and has varied artistic talents and interests, including sewing, sculpting, writing, singing and playing music, dancing and acting.
Karla Webb of Denver created “Purple,” a digital art piece donated by Peter Norris. Karla has been fascinated by color for a long time. She digitally combines photography with computer applications, pushing both to the limit.
Hill & Associates donated two ‘Norma Rae’ movie stills, and “The Strike 1886,” a print by Robert Koehler, an 1886 protest poster.
Janet Hill donated an ABA Commissioned Print commemoration the 25th Anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education in which children visit the Supreme Court.
Bonnie Meter painted “Carousel Horse,” a very realistic watercolor donated by Peter Norris. Bonnie has enjoyed creating still lifes for over two decades. She originally learned her skills in Clearwater FL and now lives near Crawford GA.
Dena Maxwell donated “Decorative Vase with decoupage leaves,” and “Decorative Jar with decoupage magazine clippings.” Both are bordered with glass beads and the leaf vase has liberally applied adhesive to give a ‘frozen in ice’ appearance. A Georgia native, Dena is a mixed media artist who is strongly committed to the course of advocacy for the mentally ill. Her works can be viewed at: www.organictwist.etsy.com.
Jorie Berman donated two ceramic sculptures, “Temple with Lovers,” 19”, and “Temple with Lounging Man,” 16”. Jorie is a ceramic artist who lives and works in Athens GA. She teaches various art courses at UGA and GSC, as well as, maintains an active studio practice as part of the Trace Studio Collective.
