
2012 Mini-Grant Process and Application
Thank you for your interest in the Mental Health America of Northeast Georgia's Grant Program for 2012. We plan to offer as many grants as funding allows up to $2,000 each (minimum of 4 grants.)
To have your proposal reviewed and to be considered for one of our grants, you must follow these instructions:
- Use the provided application form when submitting your proposal
- Assure your proposal reaches MHANEGA by the grant deadline of February 15, 2012. Mail to: PO Box 6384, Athens, GA 30604
- Confirm willingness, should you be awarded the grant, to write a narrative of your project to be published in the Mental Health America of Northeast Georgia newsletter, Mental Healthwise, and to be featured on this website, www.fightthestigma.com
- Complete your funded project by December 31, 2012.
All applications will be reviewed and you will receive notification of status by March 15, 2012. Grant money is awarded upon approval of the Grant Committee.
Proposal Submission Guidelines
Relation to Mission (maximum one page): Describe the purpose of your organization, the project, and how this project relates to the Mental Health America of Northeast Georgia mission statement.
- Our Mission: To enhance the lives of individuals with mental illness by fostering healthier attitudes toward mental illness through education, advocating for the rights of individuals experiencing mental illness, and working to fight the stigma associated with mental illness.
Purpose of Grant (maximum one page): Give your statement of needs or problem to be addressed. Describe the target population and how they will benefit.
Project Description (maximum one page): Include a description of project goals/objectives, expected outcomes and how they will be evaluated. Indicate timelines when appropriate.
Budget: Describe costs involved with the project, including total cost and amount requested from Mental Health America of Northeast Georgia. Identify any other funding support, as well as, in-kind support. Give complete item descriptions and costs of purchase to be made. Award: Recipients will receive the grant funds (up to $2,000) up front. Recipients should submit an article for publication in our newsletter, Mental Healthwise.
