View the Dept. of Justice letter to Gov. Purdue on the state of Mental Health Treatment Facilities in Georgia.

Athens-Clarke County has been approved for a grant to help establish a mental health court, which will aid in getting the proper treatment for mentally ill individuals who would otherwise be lost in the criminal justice system. Kudos to the hard work put forth by the Mental Health Court Task Force!

Parity is a reality with the passing of Senate Bill 558, the Mental Health Parity Act of 2007. This makes mental health and substance abuse disorder insurance coverage on par with physical health care coverage.
